Skill Building Clinic and Networking Event: Virtual Teams—Working Effectively, Collaboratively…Apart!

Have you ever worked from home? Have you participated in a project that includes virtual members? Have you ever conducted a meeting with people not physically in the same location as you? If you are a typical worker in today’s business world, you may have answered yes to all three. You are most likely also painfully aware of the challenges in dealing with virtual teams.

Working collaboratively is challenging enough when colleagues are sitting across the room from one another. When they are not physically together, whether they are across town, the country, or the world, it takes teamwork to another dimension.

During this interactive and engaging learning experience, Gale Mote will share practical techniques on how to create and sustain high performance virtual teams. You will:

  • Prioritize critical actions necessary to launch a virtual team
  • Examine the importance of connectedness and how to build/sustain trust
  • Discuss how to engage in healthy conflict and create buy-in using technology
  • Explore how to resolve challenging team issues such as negativity, role confusion, communication gaps, cultural/style differences and boring, ineffective meetings

Join us for this this timely interactive program and another opportunity to network with fellow ATDChi members.

Note about getting to Benedictine University: Benedictine University is located in Lisle at the southwest corner of College Road and Maple Avenue. There are many entrances into the campus. This event is being held in the Daniel L. Goodman Hall of Business, Room GN411. Please access this map to the campus to locate the building: http://www.ben.edu/about/location.cfm
